Dolphin squeaks

I've finally taken the time to organize all the different places I am online into something that (hopefully) makes a lot more sense and makes it easier to navigate and "discover" my stuff online (discovery is what peeps are calling this in 2025, yea?). Here's where everything is and what tools I'm using!

Landing Page

My landing page is now tig.lol, which gives a complete overview of who I am and where to find all my blogs, active social profiles, and "stuff". This universal profile page I've built with omg.lol. It costs $20/yr and comes with a lot of bells and whistles to not just make this profile page, but also hosts blogs, mastodon, XMPP, and other cool stuff (it'll come up again later).

Fursona Refsheets

I'm using refsheet.net to store all the media related to my three characters. Refsheet works well, but has some sharp edges. They have a Patreon, but it's free to use. I'm supporting them and hoping the tool will get better. Nothing better really exists for sharing all your art in one place.

Pronouns

Because I rock three characters with some differences in identity between them, each also has their own set of pronouns. To map all that out, the pronouns in my tig.lol site link out to pronouns.cc. It has a lot of customization options and I'm totally not using it to its full effect yet. I'm loving it, though!

Blogs

I have two blogs! The first one (my SFW/tech blog) is the one you're reading now. It's hosted on Ghost, on my cheap VPS (LowEndBox for the win!) that I'm paying $15/yr for. I could also spend $60/yr and let someone else deal with hosting Ghost. I'm bothering with Ghost at all because I like the editor UI a lot, and someday would like to turn this into a newsletter.

My second blog is the one that comes with my omg.lol subscription (so the same $20/yr I'm paying for tig.lol). That one lives at skystryder.com and has my NSFW/18+ content and writings. Whereas this blog speaks from my Wolfin "voice", that blog speaks from my Sky chakat "voice". It's also a bit more simple (omg.lol does static markdown posts). I could save money by just having the one blog, but, for me separating my thoughts makes more sense.

Social

Social is quite a bit more simple these days than it used to be. I primarily socialize on Mastodon at @[email protected] and I find the furry fediverse is active and diverse. It's also much easier to monitor and manage for me (perhaps because I use Ivory and it makes maintaining a craniological feed easy. When I reopen the app, it goes back to where I left off chronologically).

As a secondary, I do also have a Bluesky account; but I don't check it nearly as often and any of my posts there are cross posts from my Mastodon account I'm using echofeed to copy over.

I do not use X/Twitter; I don't use Instagram; I don't use Facebook. I avoid any platform where I am the product being sold.

Messaging

At the moment, my messaging stack is the most messy. I'm in the middle of moving off of Telegram because of ongoing security and ethical issues with the service. Instead, I'm preferring the use of Signal and Matrix (find the invite links to chat with me on my tig.lol profile) as my primary day-to-day messaging services.

Discord has to be one of the most hostile chat apps I've ever seen, between its ads, lack of encryption, and recent IPO, which is driving it to find more ad revenue and profit. It's just a horrible mess, and I don't understand how anyone can accept using it; but then I also don't understand how anyone could use Instagram.

Last, here in the 2020s I'm no longer publically listing an email address, as I can count on one hand the number of times someone useful used my email.

At the moment, that's me on the web! This has been stable for a couple months now and I suspect will be the status quo for me for the next year. I hope you find it helpful!
